And those who missed out will be pleased to know that we have another HwylNos planned on the Railway on 31st August - as well as at many more authentic Welsh locations over the coming months, including a working farm, historic house, botanic garden and an award-winning inn. The next HwylNos is being at Llety Cynin (a working farm in St Clears) on 27th July.
Guests at the HwylNos on the Gwili Railway were treated to a 'Taste of Wales' 3-course meal - showcasing some of the best Welsh ingredients - including cockles, laverbread, lamb cawl (with Gower Salt Marsh Lamb), and welshcakes. And throughout the evening, were entertained by talented young harpist Lucy Jones, tales from Welsh myths and legends from Carl Gough, a brief history of the Railway, and performances from Carmarthen Male Voice Choir. Guests also enjoyed a fun sing-a-long, joining in with some songs including Lawr ar Lan y Môr, Sosban Fach and Calon Lân.
Mark Brayley who'd travelled to the event from Aberdare posted on Facebook, "A great night - Amazing food and entertainment. A big thank you to Gwili Railway volunteers and Hwyl Events Wales."
Christine Mannings from Llandovery, got in touch to tell us, "Thank you for a great night. The food was great - tasted laverbread for first time! The choir were great, as was the harpist and story teller."
