Hwyl Events are organised by Carmarthenshire Tourism Association as part of our aim to offer ‘Real Welsh Experiences’ to visitors to our part of Wales, as well as those who are lucky enough to live here.

Our aim is to provide events that showcase a true taste of Wales. These are events that bring alive and celebrate Welsh culture – both traditional and current – including our music, dance, stories and food.

These have been inspired by events that you’ll sometimes find hosted in Welsh speaking communities throughout the country. But by their nature, these community events aren’t always accessible to non-Welsh speaking visitors. And so our Hwyl Events aim to offer you the same cultural experience, but are hosted in English – and with a taster of our Welsh language too, of course! They also have that added extra, of your host acting as a friendly guide, sharing snippets of our cultural past and traditions to enhance your enjoyment.

We’ve been lucky to receive funding from the Welsh Government’s Tourism Product Innovation fund to establish these events, and our aim is continue offering these as an exciting visitor experience into the future!
